Writing – Karissa Gall

Writing

You can find my reported journalism in dozens of publications.

I have written blog posts, breaking news and feature journalism for the Toronto Star, Calgary Herald, and New York Magazine’s Bedford + Bowery site, as well as countless community newspapers across Canada.

I am particularly skilled at writing profiles and arts and culture features, like this cover story on secret restaurant rooms in Calgary. I’m also a systems thinker who loves to help put a spotlight on human interest features and solutions-oriented success stories that the world doesn’t hear often enough.

When I’m not doing journalism, I work with non-profits and academics to produce high quality written communications. I’ve written perfectly-crafted 280-character tweets, expert press releases that will generate excitement about your announcement, and conference coverage that will make your readers feel as though they were there. I also do communications consulting work for non-profits on a contract basis, including the production of tactical communications plans, quarterly newsletters, success story compendiums, and thoroughly researched qualitative assessments.
