About

I’m an independent writer, editor, videographer, and communications specialist with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a master’s degree in Journalism.

Over the years I’ve filed breaking news correspondence from Malawi for the BBC World Service, produced a short documentary on a Brooklyn-based boylesque performer for a website that won an Online Journalism Award, and created a compendium of success stories for a multimillion-dollar accountability project in Ghana, funded by the USAID.

My journalism has appeared in the Toronto Star, Calgary Herald and on New York Magazine’s Bedford + Bowery site, as well as countless community newspapers across Canada.

I’ve produced videos and other strategic communications for New York University, the World Bank Global Platform for Social Accountability, and others.

I’m a skilled editor with years of professional experience perfecting high-profile documents.

I’m also the inventor and owner of the Media Guide-o-Matic WordPress plugin. Similar to how spellchecking tools automatically check for spelling mistakes, Media Guide-o-Matic automatically checks draft WordPress posts for words and phrases that go against the best practices outlined in existing media guides.
